OurGame to focus on board games, to enter web games industry

OurGame released its two year plan on July 30. The company will focus on developing board games and will enter web games industry. Ourgame’s CEO Guoliang Woo and co-CEO Qin Yang attended the strategy conference.

After the exchange of shares at the beginning of this year, Ourgame has rarely appeared in public. Since Beijing Wade WoFu Investment Co., Ltd. formally acquired all the shares of OurGame held by Haihong Holdings NHN Korea, Guoliang Woo has become the CEO and Qin Yang has become the co-CEO of OurGame.

Yang said thanks to the acquisition, OurGame now has come back to a rapid development track. OurGame has decided to focus on its core leisure and business board games and to shake off other businesses. OurGame is also deepening its relationship with Internet portals, esp. social network platforms, hoping to expand its web game and mobile game businesses.

Yang said the OurGame is a completely new born now and they will cooperate with their partners to provide more good games to the players.

Joyport’s webgame Sacred Shevalier licensed to Japan

Hangzhou-based Joyport’s webgame Crystal War has a combination of SLG and RPG. The game was highly praised since its debut in 2010 for the unique western graphics, storyline and gameplay.

Recently, Joyport claimed that Crystal War 2 would premiere in Japan with the new name Sacred Shevalier (“Shevalier” is a special term, meaning an “S” chevalier).

It is said that the game’s characters were designed by several Japanese master illustrators. The game will be operated by Gamania Japan.

Kunlun Corporation acts as Perfect World’s new webgame exclusive agent

China’s famous web-game developer Kunlun Corporation has announced the exclusive operation of Perfect World’s 2D MMORG Ying Hao in 2011Q3 recently. The game is mainly about legends of Kongfu masters based on the Song Dynasty in China’s ancient history.

This is the first time for Perfect World to allow other companies to operator its games, and it is said the agency fee is 15 million RMB (We believe the actual fee is far less than that). Giant has also announced shifting the sole agency of one client game to Zqgame this month. Most of these games are invested by listed companies.

Tencent Web Game Qi-Xiong Hegemony has closed beta test, to be released on Discuz

Tencent’s web game Qi-Xiong Hegemony (七雄争霸) started beta test on July 19. Now the game has closed beta test and will be officially released on Discuz platform, which has been acquired by Tencent and will take 50% of the game revenue.

The current Baidu search volume of the game has not changed very much, which is probably for increasing game income. Tencent is hoping Discuz could enlarge its income ASAP and make the best use of its “Long Tail Advantage”. Web games are the best choice for Discuz’s commercialization and Tencent’s entering into BBS and community websites in China.

Baitian launched Children’s Card Web Game Ao Ya Zhi Guang

Baitian Guangzhou launched its Children’s Card Web Game Ao Ya Zhi Guang for children aged 8 to 15 last week. The game play combines card combating, career changing, avatar decoration and pets domestication, etc.

Baitian has already launched three Children’s Cartoon Web Game Obi Island, Aulas Star and Dragon Fighter. The main competitors of the company are Tencent and Taomee, the latter was listed on NYSE earlier this year. Baitian received 30 million RMB from Sequoia Capital in 2009.

Snail Games to launch nautical themed web game Voyage Century

After releasing a Sino-Russia jointly developed game Mihu-Man, Snail Games is eager to launch a nautical themed web game, Voyage Century web. The game will be displayed as one of Snail’s best games in Chinajoy 2011.

Voyage Century web is a sequel web version of Snail’s 3D online game Voyage Century. The gameplay and graphics in Voyage Century web are very similar to it’s elder brother.

Besides, Voyage Century web has it’s own player community and interactive system.

Snail Games to launch web game Mihu-Man

Snail Games (Suzhou Snail Electronic Co., Ltd.) recently released a new web game, Mihu-Man. The funny casual web game was jointly developed with Russian game company MentalGames.

An important feature of Mihu-Man is that the game is divided into a real world and a dreamy world (GL: like the Avatar).

In the real world, each player is an ordinary white-collar worker. The tiredness of work and the reproach from boss could generate special combat skills in the dreamy world.

While in the dreamy world, players can throw away all real world troubles and become a Kungfu master. Vice verse, all the actions in the dreamy world would influence players’ real world behavior.

Shanda Games Launched Light Web Game Studio “UUGame”

Shanda Games announced that they had launched its own light web game studio “UUGame” yesterday, which is seen as another important progress of Shanda’s “3A” (All-Star, All-Platform, and All-Region) strategy.Shanda Games‘s CEO Qun Zhao said:”Shanda is making every effort to enter into all gaming platforms, including social and mobile games.”UUGame is mainly developing web games and social games. Japan’s SRPG Webgame Metal SAGA Launched on Renren

Japanese game developer SUCCESS Corporation has launched its web game Metal SAGA on Renren on July8. The game now has 17,397 users. Metal SAGA is a simulation game and a sequel of Metal Max (メタルマックス), which was originally developed by Japanese game developer Crea-Tech and published by DATA EAST.As of July 14, Renren has 44 RPG web games, 17 combat web games, 23 strategic web games and 5 board web games. There are also a dozen of social games on Renren.

7711.com :The seventh platform of Gamewave was released
